Claremont Museum is a small local history stop in a former police station on Victoria Avenue. Its collection deals with Claremont and Freshwater Bay rather than Perth as a whole. Sunday visits are possible only on particular dates, and parts of the museum may be used for school activities during term.

The town through its own objects
The Town's museum page lists exhibits, collections and research enquiries. The former police building gives a little of the area's civic history before you see an exhibit. Take time to connect the objects to the streets and river nearby rather than treating it as a comprehensive history of the whole metropolitan area. Exhibitions change, so check the Town's current listing if you are travelling for one in particular.
Check the day and room access
Ordinary opening is Monday to Thursday 10am–4pm. It is closed Friday and Saturday, and opens on the second and fourth Sunday of each month from 10am to 2pm. The Town notes a further restriction: during school terms two and three, exhibitions, the education kitchen and school room have limited access Monday and Tuesday 10am–12.30pm because of education visits. If those rooms are your reason for going, confirm before setting out. Public holidays are excluded.
The address is 66 Victoria Avenue. Check Transperth and the final walk or parking signs on the day. Ask the museum about a wheelchair route into the old building rather than assuming every room is level. Pair a visit with a short look at Claremont's streets or compare Subiaco Museum for another local history collection. The licensed photo depicts Claremont Museum in 2021, not the current exhibition.
