Three Days Gives You One Bigger Choice
With three days in Perth, keep the first two days area-based: central Perth and Kings Park, then Fremantle and the coast. Use the third day for one larger choice rather than trying to visit Rottnest Island, Swan Valley and the Perth Hills in the same trip.
The third day should match the weather, transport and your group. Rottnest Island suits a full-day ferry-based plan. Swan Valley suits food, wine and family stops with careful transport planning. Perth Hills suits parks, walks and nature when conditions are comfortable.
Day 1: Central Perth
Use Perth Cultural Centre, WA Museum Boola Bardip, Elizabeth Quay, The Perth Mint, Kings Park or South Perth Foreshore as the main building blocks. Choose fewer stops if you are arriving from a flight, travelling with children or planning without a car.
Day 2: Fremantle, Markets And Coast
Make Fremantle the second anchor. Compare Fremantle Markets, Fremantle Prison, WA Maritime Museum, WA Shipwrecks Museum, Bathers Beach, Fremantle art galleries and the Fremantle area guide before deciding the order.
If markets are the reason for the visit, check the official market website before you go. If beaches are part of the plan, check conditions, patrol information and local signs before entering the water.
Day 3: Rottnest, Swan Valley Or Perth Hills
Choose Rottnest Island if the trip is about beaches, cycling, walking and responsible wildlife viewing. Choose Swan Valley if food, wine, family venues and short stops are more important. Choose Perth Hills if you want nature, gardens, national parks or waterfalls after checking weather and access.
Avoid planning the third day around perfect timing. Ferries, bookings, venue days, traffic, weather and school-holiday demand can all affect the plan.
