Bold Park is a large piece of coastal bushland above City Beach. Its draw is walking among native vegetation and looking out from Reabold Hill, not manicured flowerbeds or an all-day picnic lawn. Start with the length and surface of the walk you want, especially if you have only an hour.

Pick a walk that fits
The Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority guide shows several car parks and entrances, including one near the WA Ecology Centre. Its FAQ allows dogs on trails only on a lead no longer than two metres. The bushland has uneven tracks and exposed slopes; a route that looks simple on a map may not suit a wheelchair or pram. Ask the Authority about a specific path if step-free access matters, and stick to marked tracks to protect the vegetation.
Save the view for a clear day
Reabold Hill gives a broad perspective on the city, ocean and bushland. Visibility changes with the weather, and wildflowers are seasonal, so neither is guaranteed on a given date. The park is generally open to visit at all hours, yet the Authority advises against walking after dark because the paths lack lighting. Carry water, dress for sun and wind, and check notices about prescribed burns or temporary trail works before heading into the bush.
