A Fremantle gallery day is easier to plan when you separate the West End from Finnerty Street. Japingka and Moores are in the streets around High Street and Henry Street. Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre is a separate stop, while Kidogo Arthouse adds an option at Bathers Beach when its programme includes a public exhibition.
You do not need to fit all four into one outing. Choose the exhibitions that interest you, then work around the opening times. In particular, Moores closes at 3pm during exhibitions, and Japingka does not open until noon on weekends.

Japingka Aboriginal Art Gallery
Japingka is a commercial gallery with free exhibition entry at 47 High Street. It is a useful choice if you want to see Aboriginal art in person, read about particular artists and communities, or ask about buying a work.
The programme changes, and its scope should be read from the individual exhibition descriptions. At the time of checking, the gallery was showing both paintings from the APY Lands and a separate exhibition of barkcloth by Ömie artists from Papua New Guinea. Those are distinct cultural contexts, not interchangeable descriptions of the same work.
Weekday visits can start at 10am. At weekends, plan to arrive from noon. If access to all levels is essential, contact the gallery before travelling because the heritage premises include display areas across two floors.

Moores Building Art Space
Moores is at 46 Henry Street. Its adjoining exhibition spaces accommodate contemporary work, including installations and other forms that can respond to the building's limestone walls and timber structure.
The programme is artist-managed and changes between exhibitions. Free entry and a West End address make it straightforward to pair with Japingka, but confirm that a show is running: the published 10am to 3pm hours apply during exhibition periods.
Moore & Moore Café is next door, with a separate timetable. If you arrive for an early coffee, do not assume the gallery has opened too.

Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre
At 1 Finnerty Street, Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre offers free exhibitions alongside a shop, café, courses and events. It is the option in this guide with the broadest mix of activities, though classes and concerts need to be checked and booked separately where required.
Exhibitions open from 10am to 5pm. The centre places itself 1.2 kilometres from Fremantle Station, so treat it as a separate part of the day rather than another doorway along High Street.
The historic building also has an access limit worth knowing before you book: there is no wheelchair access to the upper levels. Most art courses are on the first floor. Ask about the room and access arrangements for your chosen activity.

Kidogo Arthouse at Bathers Beach
Kidogo Arthouse is at Bathers Beach, rear 47 Mews Road. Its programme combines exhibitions with concerts and other events, and the venue is also used for private functions.
Make a Kidogo stop around a dated public listing. A beachside address does not mean that an exhibition is open whenever you pass. Check the event's start time, admission conditions and whether tickets are required.

A practical order for your visits
For a weekday West End visit, choose Moores or Japingka first according to the exhibition you most want to see. Keep Moores' 3pm closing time in mind, and add Kidogo only when there is a public exhibition or event you want to attend.
For a weekend visit, Moores can fit into the morning if an exhibition is open. Japingka follows from noon. This avoids arriving at its door before weekend opening.
If you want to include Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre, leave time for the journey to Finnerty Street and the exhibition itself. Its galleries close at 5pm, while Plated Café closes earlier. You can also give the arts centre a separate visit rather than trying to fit every venue into one afternoon.
These are suggested orders, not a scheduled tour. Allow time according to your interests and check that all the chosen venues are open on the day.

If you need step-free access, check each venue rather than assuming all historic buildings have the same arrangements. Ask where the exhibition is displayed, whether there are stairs and what facilities are available.
In each gallery, start with the artist's name and the exhibition information. Ask before photographing artworks, and follow any notices about touching, sound or sensitive content. If you are buying, request information about the artist and provenance of the particular work.
